This 1966 Corvair was salvaged from a wreck and became a display vehicle in 1982.  Conversion work was performed by members of the Pikes Peak Corvair Club.
It has been on display at many Corvair events since its rebirth 40 years ago.  This Corvair 500 4-door hardtop was originally built in the fall of 1965 at the Van Nuys Assembly Plant in Van Nuys California.  It was the base model with a manual 3-speed transmittion
